Noble Mdina original oil painting of Malta's silent city.

Walking the streets of this enchanting city is like walking back in time. A mix of baroque and medieval surroundings, the fortified city of Mdina is a must-see. This city was the home town of noble Maltese people before the Great Seige of 1565 and for some time it was Malta's capital city.
During certian periods it has been re-named Melita, Medina, Citta Notabile and Citta Vecchia. For quite some time it's also been known as the Silent City because no vehicles are allowed in apart from those of the residents.

It is also home to a few chapels and the beautiful 17th century cathedral of St. Paul.

A must visit for those who love history, quiet and captivating alleys or enjoy a meal in peaceful and idyllic surroundings.

And of course the breath-taking views.
